Production Lead

Department: Operations  |  Designation: Factory

The Production Lead owns the factory floor. This is the most senior operational role on the ground at Ikorodu and is responsible for the quality, consistency and output of every batch produced at Ignite Paints. It requires someone who can lead a small team, read and enforce formulas precisely, and take full accountability for what leaves the production line.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Take full ownership of factory floor operations, ensuring production runs on schedule and to quality standard
  2. Plan and manage daily production schedules in coordination with the General Manager
  3. Supervise and direct the Production Assistant and Colour Matcher on all floor activities
  4. Oversee all mixing and filling operations, ensuring batch formulas are followed precisely
  5. Conduct in-process checks at each stage; flag quality issues to QC Officer
    immediately
  6. Ensure all finished batches are correctly labelled, recorded and transferred to finished goods
  7. Maintain a clean, safe and organised factory floor; enforce health and safety
    standards without exception
  8. Report all production output, downtime, equipment issues and batch performance to the GM daily

Colour Matcher

The Colour Matcher is one of the most technically critical roles at Ignite Paints. As a company that offers custom colour services alongside a full decorative finishes range, colour accuracy is a direct reflection of our brand quality. This role requires a rare combination of technical skill, sharp colour perception and methodical discipline. Colours are matched manually through expert knowledge of pigments, ratios and paint behaviour.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Produce accurate custom colour matches through manual mixing, using pigments, tinters and base paints in the correct ratios based on customer specifications and shade references
  2. Receive and interpret customer colour requests from physical samples, RAL/BS codes or digital references and reproduce them accurately by hand
  3. Maintain and update the company shade card library, ensuring all standard colours are correctly documented and reproducible
  4. Conduct in-process colour checks during batch production to ensure consistency across all units in the same batch
  5. Record all colour formulas and pigment ratios used for each job for future reference and repeat orders
  6. Coordinate with the QC Officer to flag any colour deviations before products are approved for dispatch
  7. Manage colourant and pigment stock levels and alert Procurement when replenishment is needed
  8. Support the Production Lead with general batch production tasks during periods of low colour matching demand

Production Assistant

The Production Assistant is the engine room of the factory floor. This is a hands-on, physical role that supports the Production Lead in executing daily output. The right candidate is hardworking, reliable and precise ; someone who takes instruction well and shows up consistently.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support the Production Lead in all day-to-day manufacturing activities including mixing, filling and packaging
  2. Prepare raw materials for production batches as directed, including weighing,
    measuring and transferring materials

Colour Matcher (Depot)

The Colour Matcher at the depot is the face of Ignite Paints technical expertise for walk-in customers. Unlike the factory Colour Matcher who works in batch production, this role deals directly with customers on the spot, interpreting their colour vision and matching it accurately through manual mixing. Speed, accuracy and a pleasant customer manner are all equally important.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Produce accurate custom colour matches for walk-in and pre-ordered customer requests through manual mixing of pigments, tinters and base paints
  2. Receive colour requests from customers by physical sample, photo reference, shade card selection or colour code and reproduce them accurately by hand
  3. Advise customers on colour selection, finish options and product suitability for their specific project type
  4. Maintain accurate records of every colour job completed including formula and pigment ratios for repeat order reference
  5. Monitor colourant and pigment stock at the depot and raise replenishment requests to Procurement before stock runs out
  6. Work alongside the Customer Service Rep to ensure a smooth customer experience from colour enquiry to product handover

Production Assistant (Depot)

The Production Assistant at the depot keeps the physical operation moving. From receiving factory deliveries and organising stock, to picking customer orders and loading vehicles; this role is the backbone of depot logistics. Inventory Officer

The Inventory Officer is the custodian of all stock at the Ignite Paints factory; raw materials coming in and finished goods going out. Without accurate inventory, production cannot be planned and deliveries cannot be fulfilled. This role requires someone meticulous, trustworthy and structured.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain accurate records of all raw materials received at the factory including quantity, batch number, supplier details and date of receipt
  2. Conduct daily, weekly and monthly stock counts for all raw materials and finished goods
  3. Receive and inspect incoming raw material deliveries; verify quantities against purchase orders and flag discrepancies immediately
  4. Issue raw materials to the production floor against approved production schedules and maintain a detailed issuance log
  5. Monitor raw material stock levels continuously and raise reorder requests before stock reaches minimum threshold
  6. Maintain organised and clearly labelled storage of all raw materials and finished goods
  7. Track finished goods output from production and coordinate with the GM on dispatch readiness
  8. Prepare and submit weekly inventory reports to the General Manager

Accounts and Procurement Officer

The Accounts and Procurement Officer is one of the most important hires for Ignite Paints at this stage of growth. This role combines financial control with raw material sourcing and is the engine behind both what goes into production and how money flows through the business. It demands someone with strong accounts experience, high integrity and the ability to manage multiple functions with precision.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Source and procure all raw materials required for paint production, both locally and from international suppliers primarily from China
  2. Identify, evaluate and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers; negotiate pricing, lead times and payment terms
  3. Raise and track purchase orders from initiation through to delivery confirmation
  4. Coordinate with freight forwarders on all import shipments and manage all shipping and clearing documentation including HAZMAT and DG certificates
  5. Track all inbound shipments and proactively flag delays to the General Manager
  6. Maintain accurate books of accounts; record all income, expenses and transactions daily
  7. Prepare and process payroll for all staff on a monthly basis
  8. Handle all invoicing to customers and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding payments
  9. Manage petty cash and reconcile against receipts weekly
  10. Ensure tax compliance; prepare and file relevant statutory deductions and returns

Sales Officer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Execute a structured weekly field sales schedule covering hardware stores, paint retailers, building materials markets and distributors across Lagos
  2. Prospect and onboard new retail and distribution accounts
  3. Manage and deepen relationships with existing accounts through regular visits and after-sales follow-up
  4. Collect, record and confirm orders from customers in the field
  5. Present Ignite Paints products professionally, including specialty finishes such as Lime Wash, Travertino and Velvet Paint
  6. Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets set by the Managing Director
  7. Provide weekly field reports covering accounts visited, orders collected, competitor activity and market feedback

  2. Develop and execute a consistent content calendar that showcases products,
    application techniques, completed projects and brand culture

  4. Identify, reach out to and coordinate with influencers and decorative painters for collaborative content and product seeding

Lead Customer Experience Associate

The Lead Customer Experience Associate runs the digital conversion engine at Ignite Paints and also owns the order fulfilment pipeline. While the CX Associate handles live enquiries, this role takes over the moment an order is confirmed, tracking it from production through to delivery and ensuring the customer receives exactly what they ordered, on time. It is a dual role that bridges customer management and internal operations, and it suits someone who is organized, proactive and does not like idle time.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Lead and oversee the customer experience function across all digital channels, ensuring response quality, speed and conversion standards are met consistently
  2. Set daily and weekly targets for the Customer Experience Associate and monitor performance against them
  3. Handle escalated customer complaints and complex enquiries directly; resolve issues with professionalism and authority
  4. Once an order is confirmed by the CX Associate, take full ownership of the order fulfilment process from that point forward
  5. Coordinate with the factory Production Lead and General Manager to ensure
    confirmed orders are scheduled into production without delay
  6. Track every active order through the production pipeline; follow up proactively to confirm batch completion dates
  7. Liaise with the Driver to schedule and confirm delivery timelines for each customer order
  8. Contact the customer ahead of delivery to confirm readiness, address any last-minute changes and set expectations
  9. Follow up with the customer after delivery to confirm receipt, satisfaction and identify any issues that need resolving
  10. Maintain a live order tracker showing the status of every confirmed order from production to delivery
  11. Flag any delays, quality issues or delivery problems to the Marketing Lead and General Manager immediately
  12. Develop scripts, response templates and product knowledge guides for the CX Associate
  13. Report weekly to the Marketing Lead on enquiry volumes, conversion rates, order fulfilment timelines and customer satisfaction

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum 2 years experience in a customer experience, CRM, operations coordination or order management role
  2. Proven ability to manage and improve a customer-facing function while also handling back-end fulfilment coordination
  3. Highly organized with the ability to track multiple live orders simultaneously without letting anything fall through the cracks
